What types of payments are accepted?

You can pay in person with cash, cashier’s check, money order, debit card, MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express. A third party convenience fee does apply if using a debit or credit card. You will be given a receipt at the time your payment is made.

You can pay by mail with a cashier’s check or money order. DO NOT SEND CASH. Mail your payment to Jasper County Circuit Clerk, 601 S Pearl, Room 218, Joplin, MO 64801. Write your case number and name on your payment so we can apply it correctly. Please make sure it is legible. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. If you want a receipt for your payment mailed to you, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Can I pay my cost over the phone?

Once you have plead guilty to your charges payment may be made over the phone. If you want to pay by phone, you can call our office at 417-358-0450 to make a payment by Master Card, Visa, Discover, or American Express. A third party convenience fee applies to debit or credit transactions. We can email you a copy of your receipt. If you want a receipt mailed to you, you will have to send in a self- addressed, stamped envelope with your case number noted. 

How can I find out how much I owe?

You can call our office at 417-358-0450. We can look up your case number and tell you how much you owe, the due date and whether or not the account has been placed with collection.

What if I can’t pay my fines and costs in full?

Typically, fines and costs are due on the day you come to court and the case is disposed. If you have not paid the fines and costs in full within 30 days of the date of judgment, a one-time $25.00 time payment fee is assessed. If you fail to pay your fine and costs within 60 days past your final payment date the outstanding balance will be sent to debt collection. If the fines and costs are sent to collections, a one-time collection fee equal to 14.9% of the balance due will be added.

How do I get more time to pay on my fines and costs?

You are unable to get an extension with the courts to pay out your fine and costs. You will need to make arrangement with the third party debt agency, Municipal Services Bureau at 800-616-0166
