Court Administration

 
 

The Office of Court Administration provides a variety of support services to assist the judiciary in the daily operations of the court. These services include managing personnel and payroll, oversight of the court’s budget including purchasing and accounts payable, courtroom technology, assigning court reporters, jury management, and providing interpreter services. The Office also manages a number of programs and services which assist the judiciary in resolving problems impacting the court and the community.

The Office of Court Administration is managed by the Court Administrator under the direction of the Presiding Judge and Court en Banc. The Court Administrator is responsible for strategic planning, compiling statistical caseload information, developing policies, implementing court programs, managing grants and contracts, public and media relations, facilities management, and is the primary liaison between the judiciary and numerous public and private organizations.

Court Administrator Erik T. Theis has served the Twenty-Ninth Judicial Circuit in this capacity since 2015. Mr. Theis has 30 years of experience working within the judicial and executive branches of government. He received his undergraduate degree from Emporia State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Mr. Theis is recognized as a Certified Court Manager through the National Center for State Courts and he is a faculty member for the Missouri Court Management Institute.
