Internship Program

The Circuit Court of Jasper County is committed to providing a meaningful internship for college students interested in the criminal justice system. Participation in our internship program within our Treatment Court, Court Services, or the Juvenile Division will enable you to acquire lifelong skills and put you in a better position to serve in the public sector. Our internship program is designed to provide an opportunity for students to connect theory with practice and serve as a training opportunity for prospective social workers and criminal justice professionals. All interns will be exposed to various aspects of the court system, county jail, probation and parole, behavioral health systems, and community resource providers.

Prospective interns will have an opportunity to work in one of the busiest and progressive court systems in Missouri. Whether you are interested in juvenile justice, treatment court, or pre-trial services; in most instances we are able to place students in an area of their interest so they can gain practical experience to build a solid foundation for the future. Several students who have served as interns have gone on to work as deputy juvenile officers, probation and parole officers, correctional staff, and social workers.

If you are interested in an internship within the court system, complete the application below and email it to Court Administrator Erik T. Theis at Erik.Theis@courts.mo.gov. If you are interested in an internship with the Juvenile Division in some capacity, please click here.
